COVID Checklist Week 11

ELEVEN WEEKS OF SHELTER IN PLACE. Austin opened up last weekend for bars and increased restaurant capacities, and also it’s an average of 1,000 degrees here so looks like locally we’re getting out there just a smidge more. I hung out with people, outside, over the weekend. We’ll see what happens. Week 10. Week 9Week 8Week 7Week 6Week 5 hereWeek 4 hereWeek 3’s hereWeek 2’s here. There is no Week 1 because we didn’t know back then.

Everyone in quarantine.

Workouts

  • Box & Flow IG live 45-minute class kicked up a quick sweat with a (too) quick yoga cool down. Fun to mix it up though.
  • Shelby is back at it with a new class called The Arrow. It’s 90 minutes of torture yoga, Wednesdays at 6pm. I’m not recommending it because everything hurts and I’m dying, but I’m recommending it because she’s the best and this class is horribly exhausting in a good way.
  • A blogger I like shared this free YouTube workout channel—haven’t tried it, but it seems like there’s a good range of HIIT, barre, and short workouts worth checking out!

Daydream Wednesday

  • Texas State Parks reopened for camping reservations and I immediately booked two backpacking sites—I may have to go solo and die of heatstroke because we really missed camping season here, but dammit I’m going to the wilderness.
  • Greece … too soon?

Therapy Thursday

  • Reminded of the age-old advice: pay attention to your self-talk. Would you speak that way to your best friend? Your mom? A child? Speak to yourself the same way you’d insist on speaking to others: with gentleness and kindness.

Yikes, Co-Star.

Entertainment

  • Co-Star. It’s an astrology app attuned to your birth time and moon sign and all that craziness, and it’s eerily on point most days. Check this one out: “Your work this month is to understand the difference between being impressed by someone and being impressed only by your lack thereof.”
  • 31 Dance Movies, I’ve seen most but not all these, so we know what I’ll be up to this weekend … also let’s take a second to recognize the mid-2000s dance movies that were FIRE. I need more of those in my life.
  • I had stopped listening to the Call Her Daddy podcast, but the drama around the friendship and partnership breakup has been sustaining me, and I can’t wait for the first single father episode.
