COVID Checklist Week 9

Doin’ fine in week 9? Nah, the stir crazy is real, and I can’t even imagine how much worse it’d be if I was cooped up in a tiny apartment. That goodness for nice weather in Central Texas. This is what kept me covidtained this week. Week 8Week 7Week 6Week 5 hereWeek 4 hereWeek 3’s hereWeek 2’s here. There is no Week 1 because we didn’t know back then.

Workouts

  • Basketball hoop with backboard and chain link net is set up! Attaching an enormous piece of plywood to a frame is no joke, friends. Now we play.
  • Relay for Relief this Friday & Saturday, a fitness collaboration and chance to try classes from studios across the nation? Sign me up. Wanna work out with me? Boxing at 3:30 CT tomorrow!
  • There are finally Third Monkey tanks available for pre-order! Now I can press cinder blocks in style.

Therapy Thursday

Community

  • Can confirm: a SUP is indeed a great physical-distancer, where you get to hang out with friends on the water and still stay six feet apart.
  • Can also confirm: being neighbors with your brother and his gf who you love is amazing, for SUP time when they make a state park reservation and for front yard time at all hours of the day.

Entertainment

  • As a long-time blogger myself (15 years if you can believe it), there are very, very few bloggers I’ve followed for years and years. My very favorite is the prolific Abra of Capitol Hill Style, and I LOVED this quote she posted: “Problems are not the problem; coping is the problem. // Virginia Satir“. We don’t always have the same sense of style, but I love everything about her blog.
  • I loved my first Letter in a Bottle, a semi-weekly newsletter about whatever the author wants, built on an email platform she built herself. Her first looked a bit like some of my Feel Good Friday lists, with great recommendations and gratitude for a bit of synergy.
  • How will I wait until JULY for the Baby-Sitters Club netflix series?! Those books were FORMATIVE in my childhood … I even hid candy around my room like Claudia for years (maybe I still do?).
