Marathon | Feel Good Friday 052220

Y’all the Coronavirus is a marathon. I want to GO. I want to travel, I want to go. on. dates. (I do NOT like the act of dates), I want to go to patios, I want to go the grocery store without worrying about decontamination protocol, I want to gtfo. But, I want to be careful to be a good contributor to society, to take my good fortune to have a home and backyard and family (really) close by, so I recognize that this ain’t a sprint, but we have signed up for a marathon.

Alas.

Things I’m grateful for this week:

  • A marathon catch up with an old friend last Friday night … if you’ve never talked on the phone for 5 hours and 16 minutes, you’ve never been on quarantime.
  • Bufalina’s wine list. Unparalleled. Need more. For pizza, the red pie is a single woman’s dream (too much garlic for a couple). Need happy hour there, in real life, stat.
  • Thug Yoga care package, ready for yoga and life in style now.
  • Zucchini protein bread … y’all I didn’t measure a goddamn thing and it turned out to be the best-tasting, bread-iest bread I’ve ever made. I could try to re-create it, but how?
  • Austin Winery and the forgotten bottle of rosé that multiplied when we went back…
  • … the front porch hang that came after 🙂
  • SUP dogs paddleboard gang social distancing on Town Lake is saving my (social) life.
  • Goodbye Marilyn, hello my own artwork.
  • The friend that has kept a bag of hose stuff waiting to come borrow my hose … you’re hilarious.
  • An unwinding Thursday afternoon, ending in front yard sittin’ and backyard Better Half eatin’.
  • Third Monkey training with cinder blocks. Basketball hoop. IG live classes. Loving getting to try new things!
  • Found Elsewhere handblown recycled glasses totally elevating porch, patio, backyard, frontyard, and anywhere serving situations. Love.
  • Starting to dream about close-by vacations and taking a bit of time away … they say the dreaming is part of the fun! Port A, anyone?
