Nature’s Garage Gym Playground

I’ve been Yoga-ing the past two days (at King Yoga and then with Dana from 02, which is currently closed), and really enjoyed it. It’s killer on your shoulders, and my right shoulder is in just enough pain that it MIGHT mean that the rotator cuff isn’t fully healed 🙁

I’ve discovered another fun workout place in CrossFitABC123 Nature’s Garage Gym: The Playground. Okay, well the dog park/playground.

There’s a huge grassy field with soft, delicious, bright green grass and a playground with swingset on the side. The grass is perfect for sprints, freestanding handstand work, and abs. The playground is perfect for pullups and knees to elbows and pushups with my feet on the swings. I did all of these things today, with my pup by my side.

I’ve also started adding to my daily diet a tbsp of apple cider vinegar in 8 oz of water. I started this past Monday, after reading Muscle & The City’s post on how drinking apple cider vinegar before eating pizza not only made her less hungry, but lowered the pizza’s impact on her blood sugar.

About.com explains the possible health benefits of apple cider vinegar; WebMD is more cautionary about apple cider vinegar use. The way I see it, it can’t hurt and very well could help. Plus, I feel like water + apple cider vinegar almost tastes like kombucha, and I love me some kombucha.

I’ll keep you posted on how the apple cider vinegar treats me. (Oh, and warning: ease into drinking it. I drank 2 tbsp in water the first day and went almost immediately to the toilet.)
