HCG Diet Day 8

Breakfast (at 2p, old habits die hard): cauliflower rice, kale, ground beef + packaged tuna 3.5 ounces

Snack: apple

Gym: weight the same as yesterday. Did a CrossFit OneWorld workout: 21-15-9 155# deadlift, 40# kb swing, with 100 single unders between rounds. 10:11. Tired afterward.

Dinner: whole raw yellow squash, ate it like a banana. Weird. Then had the most delicious tenderloin ever, 3.5 ounces baked in the oven for 5 minutes and then sauteed for another 5 in the cast iron skillet without any fat. A little Summit County Seasoning from Austin’s Savory Spice Shop and himalayan sea salt really enhanced the flavor of the meat. Yum. Roasted brussel sprouts with salt, ate the entire bag.

Snack: 1/2 cup blueberries

Look, I finally bought a scale!

Things I probably would have eaten today if I wasn’t on this diet: before working out I made That Ripped Guy of Mine(TM) a protein shake with peanut butter (how disgustingly domestic) and I would have licked the pb spoon. We came home from the gym and he was having fajitas and chips and salsa … probably would have had at least a few chips. Was craving pizza—I often make a flax pizza on Friday nights, so that’s what I was craving—it doesn’t even have gluten! It’s good for me! Le sigh. Then I probably would have baked some sort of dessert, because we have guests coming tomorrow and it’d be sweet to welcome them with hazelnut meal cookies with dark chocolate chips (ok, that’s all an excuse, I love baking and I love eating the dough and I love watching The Bachelor while I bake and I love eating the cookies while watching shows I actually like even though my tummy hurts from eating too much dough). So, like I’ve said before about cleanses, at least this thang is helping me address psychological attachments to food.
