Should we just switch to Feel Good Monday? It doesn’t have quite the same ring, does it?
Previously, I wrote:
It’s a little staycation day for me! We’re headed to an early afternoon wedding, so I just took the whole day off: slept in, had a latte a la dada, walked Bob around Town Lake (he did SO good), did pilates, and got ready leisurely for the wedding. It’s a lovely treat made even more so by the novelty of it: Friday is normally a frenzy of activity—and if my email is any indication, this Friday is no different—so getting to tune out all that noise is refreshing.
Maybe this is something I should take into my everyday life? Tuning out the noise, that is. It’s hard.
Things I am grateful for this week, we’re gonna focus on the material:
I am digging this new JUNI cleanser JunkTheory sent me to try. I hadn’t heard of the brand, but the packaging is adorable, the ethos good, and the cleanser leaves your skin feeling very clean.
… and that was it 🙂 I was truly staycationing, wasn’t I?
Now, I will add:
I walked Bob around Town Lake again on Sunday and he did SO good and it was SO good to catch up with a friend that way, on a long walk dishing on our lives. Love <3
The wedding was a blast! It was a beautiful expression of their love, a great group of friends to take a sweaty bus ride with, and a riot of laughter and dancing late into the night.
Speaking of weddings, I’m grateful for wedding prep of my own, it’s so fun(ny)! Things happen all at once, and then not at all, and then all at once! I found my wedding dress (!!) and they said it would take until December to come in but called me and said it’s ready. Uh, wut? I’m not ready!
Alongside ramping up wedding workouts (and ramping down wine workouts?), I’ve got to get my beauty on point. Chandler at Sun Up Skin is switching me from ‘acne-clearing mode’ to ‘wedding brightening mode’—her words, not mine, I’m giving whitening my teeth an easy go with this female-founded brand’s pen—for under $20 it can’t hurt, and my friends are weighing in on what to do with my once-highlighted hair as it grows out… not to mention that my botox lady gave me a unit or two free as ‘an engagement present’. People love love and people love weddings, y’all.
Of course there’s more, so much more, but that’s the gratitude list for this very Monday-ish Monday.
