Day 23 HCG Diet: I Stink

Literally. I stink. Have I hit ketosis? Am I eating too much garlic? Because I stink. I shower, I get out, and a smell radiates from my pores that is not the sweet scent of body wash (which, incidentally, I can’t use because you can’t use anything containing oils while on the hcg diet), but is a funky stench. Thanks, That Ripped Guy of Mine(TM) for alerting me to this never-ending eau de diet.

Also, I weighed a pound less this morning! YAY! I also made the decision to stop the HCG treatment today, so today marks the first 500 calorie day without HCG drops. I will have two more, and then Tuesday I will begin to eat a strict low-carb strict Paleo diet without calorie restrictions.

It was kind of a tough decision. At this point I’ve lost 9 pounds, which is awesome. But I feel like there’s still room for improvement (perfection). At the same time, with how much I’m losing energy and how much external stress is going on, I’m not sure it’s best to keep psychologically pushing at this point. So I just went 2 days extra over the recommended 21.

This morning I woke up and went straight to King Yoga for power yoga, and damn did I need it. My energy levels were still pretty low, but just stretching out and feeling the power of my new, slim, body was very encouraging for me.

Yoga 9-10:20am

Breakfast (11a): small apple

Skiing for about 2 hours

Lunch (2:30p): 2.6 ounces tuna with mustard, 1 ounce beef jerky, 1 bunch broccolini

Walked around town doing a little shopping, including some groceries, then didn’t have any energy and had to crash on the couch … energy levels = no good.

Dinner (7p): Grilled tenderloin kebob pieces (from U.S. Wellness, they were amazingly delicious and tender, I highly recommend not just for HCG dieters) and Italian vegetable stew

Went to see a movie, came back around 10pm and was still hungry, so ate more stew. Then, massive stomach issues began and all energy faded. I have experienced a fair amount of stomach upset on this diet, which doesn’t make much sense—I’m consuming hardly anything to get to the stomach upset point! Another reason to switch to the maintenance phase and see if things go better.
