Feminist or not, it’s undoubtedly hard to navigate the various expectations around being female these days, what with their contradictions, restrictions, freedoms, and hypocrisies. Here are a few articles that explore some of these concepts, with telling quotes pulled out from each.

 

“I wonder why we understand ownership so much better when we’re talking about a person’s prized possessions than when we’re talking about a woman’s body.
