An update on my Wendler 5-3-1 … it was going awesome, until I skipped an entire week of heavy weights while traveling and then attempted new 1-rep maxes. This is apparently a poor choice, as I failed in every single one.
The good news is, I now know what it feels like to bail on bench press … I say if you’re benching without a spot (never a good idea, but what does a solo girl at the gym do?), don’t use those clamps. I was able to angle the bar down and let the weight slide off. Well, I guess I know I pushed myself?
Looks like I’m starting over on 5-3-1 … whoops!
