A question I’ve been posing to myself more and more recently …
Birkenstock Florida Platform sandal – a bit of a platform, three straps, and just a different vibe than the ubiquitous (and by that I mean I personally wear them EVERYWHERE despite my misgivings at buying them two years ago) Arizona sandal. But is it just too ugly, even for someone who is now at an age where she can wear whatever she wants? (or were we always at that age we just didn’t realize it until now?) And by whatever she wants I really mean whatever she needs to make sure she doesn’t tear an achilles and plantar fascia right after one another again because she really can’t deal with the immobility, which is something she is also kinda familiar with right now … the shoe is getting deep. Ugly or Cute Enough?
I’m grateful for my healthy feet and ankles and achilles and legs. I’m grateful for mobility (I wrote a bit about it here on Uptrust). I’m grateful, as always, for pilates and yoga and my garage gym. For Bob walks. For coffee beans at Anderson’s. For living in scooter-distance of a lot. For the chiropractor.
I’m grateful for a long-overdue catch up at new hotspot Mexta with vulnerable conversation and deeply supportive friendship. I’m grateful for kiddos in the yard after dinner, swinging on the front porch swing and enjoying the slightly nice weather for just a few more weeks. I’m grateful for the new backyard sans tree that will only get better … it might also be a cute enough or ugly question, currently anyway.
I’m grateful for my family, friends, celebrations, engagements(!), good books (just finished Cilka’s Journey, sigh, great rec from my fellow bookworm), hammock reading, baths, taking turns cooking, and trying new recipes.
I’m grateful for super helpful customer service representatives—seriously, huge shoutout to the COBRA lady who called to verify something they needed and ended up solving a massive problem for me proactively! You are what customer service should be.
I’m grateful for a slower season with a still very full life. It’s cute enough.
