Stormy Beach | Feel Good Friday 112720

I love a stormy beach—the rain, thunder, and weather with crashing waves is just as gorgeous as a 70-and-sunny blue-sky day, in its own way. Particularly in contrast.

Fitting, then, that as I reflect on the past week as I compose this gratitude list, we’re sitting at a stormy beach in Texas. First, it should be noted on this day after the most grateful of days, I am still very, very full of gratitude for my family, friends, and life.

My dad’s birthday fishing last weekend was so fun.

But, should we address the rest of this past week… well the rest of the week was a real mixed bag. My heart hurt so. much. (over a sudden change). My heart was full (with my family and friends’ support). I was in emotional pain (stupid boy). I was excited (about work!). My body hurt (from yoga). My body felt strong when I hit a new (old) power clean PR for a triple. Sunday was so fun watching football (in the hot pool!). Until I was crying on my brother’s couch (see: heart hurt). Thanksgiving was so fun (and too short). We got to see my grandma (but it was fraught with drama).

With apologies to Forest, life is like a stormy beach: the storm can be just as powerful if not majestic as the calm that both precedes and follows.
