Saturday morning was amazing.
I feel so loved and supported heading into the next chapter of my life … I could not be more grateful to the absolutely awesome hosts of the party and the incredible women who showed up from near and far to celebrate and shower me with love. Baby Zotlen already has so much love in her life, and fantastic role models for all sorts of paths; I can’t wait to bring her into this wonderful world of women.
There’s a very real sisterhood, not only of mothers, but of women who love their friends in an uncomplicated, easy way. And these are my sisters, who showed up in spades for my shower. It’s simply awesome in the literal, awe-inspiring origin of the word.
Just boundless gratitude for my people right now.

We have not previously announced on the blog or social media this life development. I’ve lived life semi-publicly through this blog and social media for a very long time, but this announcement has felt intensely private. However, as we approach our due date, I feel more comfortable claiming this part of the experience.
Plus, my supremely talented sister-in-law took some incredible maternity photos, so those definitely need to see the light of social media. More to come.
