Laboring is hard. Labor Day weekend is not hard. Especially not when you have a Permanent Adult Kiddie Cowgirl Pool with a rosé floatie and temps in the 100s.
AND you get a last-minute invite on a boat, so that’s a fabulous Saturday.
AND THEN your childhood bestie comes into town for adult kiddie pool hangs and brisket and brunch, and there’s never not laughter.
And so when you go back to laboring, it’s long days and lots of work but it’s loads of fun, too.
AND THEN! You launch a long-awaited podcast just before football season starts, where your Texans played the Super Bowl champs and looked pretty good (did not win). And your besties texted you throughout the game because everyone was also watching and you felt connected even apart.
So, I am grateful because in this story you is me and life is pretty freakin’ good.
