Hip Hop Abs

Let me tell you a story about a girl who was having a little trouble with motivation … it was raining, her knee hurt, her shoulders were sore from rock manmakers, That Ripped Guy of Hers(TM) took her dog Nali for a hike, there was just no reason to work out. So she decided she’d google a workout video on YouTube, a dance video, thinking it ought to liven up her spirits.

Enter Hip Hop Abs.

Oh yeah. In my tiny apartment, I. was. breaking. it. down. That girl was me.

Which was fun for about twenty minutes (you can watch Hip Hop Abs Parts 1-4 to get the whole video… I made it through 2), and then I was like, eff this, I need some can’t-catch-my-breath CrossFittin’!

So I did this pyramid (designed to not hurt my knees or shoulders … what?):

3 HSPU (on to a foam roller on its side, roughly 1.5 ab mats)
5 burpees
7 skaters
5 Rounds – 4:28
3 minutes TacFit (4 reps of 4 TacFit exercises on the minute)

I was sweaty and happy, danced and CrossFitted and decidedly out of the funk I was residing in.
