This morning was the most fun chaos possible: I watched the 5-year-old, 3-year-old, and my baby for two hours. They were hilarious, action-packed, chaotic hours that felt very long. But very, very fun.
Sanne can reach the random items on the bottom shelf of the pantry, so she carries around this ancient box of gel food coloring (when was the last time I made icing?! did I inherit this from my grandma?!), occasionally distributing the colors randomly around the house.
When the big cousins came over, they found the yellow and blue and asked if we could do science?!
WHY OF COURSE WE CAN DO SCIENCE THAT SOUNDS AWESOME.
So we went outside and made green water. And green milk. And then they asked me if they could drink it and I said … well, I guess, but it’s probably gross. And then they said it tasted like poop but kept drinking it so I teased them about drinking poop water and we all laughed our heads off. Sanne just giggled and carried water around, because she is but 15 months old and doesn’t fully understand colors and definitely not SCIENCE but very much loves being with her cousins.
As for the rest of the week, I don’t even know where to begin.
We went to Philly. It was awesome. Everyone lost. No one (really) cared. That Bird Gang traveling group of friends is something else, I tell ya. So amazing that we all have our own lives and some of us have kids and still we come together once a year to run around eating, drinking, and yelling ‘Go Birds’ with reckless abandon. I love it.
I also got a lot of love and unexpected support, betwixt the espresso martinis and tequila sodas and hand-drawn noods. Incredible.
Getting back home was a chore but I gotta hand it to my old favorite Frontier Airlines … despite trying to cancel my flight for being 30 minutes late to a 1.5 hour layover, they nonetheless got me home before my original flight would have even taken off, allowing me to snuggle that precious baby for two perfect hours that I wouldn’t have otherwise gotten. This is motherhood. And I will continue to be a Frontier stan, and continue to advocate for traveling with as little luggage as possible because it is awesome to be mobile.
Also, the Go Wild Pass is pretty freakin’ neat if you can both be flexible and travel only in a backpack!
I also took a shower in the Chase Sapphire Lounge and my god was that amazing.
Back home, I have been deep in AI this week, which is funny to say because I’m often deep in AI anyway. BUT IT CAN DO SO MANY THINGS and I had to take a beat because I *knew* I was doing things manually I didn’t need to and now that I have a boatload of clients and prospects, I need HELP managing and AI is the answer.
So I have many new Claude Skillz populating my Claude instances, because when you have multiple clients you have to work in multiple Claudes and you don’t have to retrain anybody, you just pop those skillz in and go.
Then today I had some fun conversations with some new people and old coworkers and it was a chaotic day not even just because of the start but it’s a happy chaos.
To cap my day off, this happened [LinkedIn]. I love my friends. I am so grateful for this life.
