Turkey Thought: We Are Now Apparently a Turkey Trot Family and Other Things For Which I am Grateful

On this THANKFUL therapy thursday of turkey THOUGHTS, we will celebrate what I am grateful for, and do it again tomorrow because there’s never enough gratitude. Dudes, 2019 was a YEAR. It was, and is, trying and hard and pushing me well past my comfort zone to figure out who I really and truly am and that is uncomfortable to say the least. BUT! I am also grateful for this. Other things I am grateful for, in no particular order so don’t judge me please:

  • my backyard, covered in leaves now, home to an adult kiddie pool occasionally, needs to be mowed constantly, but an outside sanctuary I adore
  • my pupper’s health, even with the arthritis she’s a happy, healthy pup and I couldn’t be more grateful
  • likewise, my family’s health, and proximity; while the latter may be a partial contributor to my growth
  • my friends! they are freakin’ amazing and constantly fill me up with their love, attention, and caring in the midst of their own very busy lives
  • my friends’ kids! those lil nuggets are the best!
  • a loving relationship that challenges the hell out of me but also includes countless glasses of wine, giggles and laughter, nerf wars and homemade dinners, and lots of encouragement
  • aspen
  • planning trips to aspen
  • meeting people from aspen
  • early christmas because someone from aspen loves it
  • hyde park gym, the gritty, easy place to let stress go
  • bfree yoga, the easy, close yoga studio to let stress go
  • town lake trail, for long walks and sunshine and dedicated time with the pup
  • my trusty gary fisher, for taking me where I want to go and keeping me fit while he’s at it (this is my bicycle, for those of you who don’t know)
  • my friends! I mean good god these people are amazing, and scattered across the country and globe, and still always check in and send memes and make me laugh and LOVE THE HELL OUT OF ME
  • my leather couch from Copenhagen that I just love (especially with faux fur snuggly winter pillows)
  • good tv, and bad tv, and good books (only)
  • austin, for being my home when it is and isn’t
  • my sense of self, which is finally returned

*it should be noted that while I planned to run the turkey trot, I did not want to get up early and run 5 miles (surprise)… so I went to hot yoga with live music instead, wearing my turkey trot shirt ??‍♀️
