you are my celebrity

I’m pretty much always “working on myself” but I love the way my dear/completely badass friend frames the quest in this article: Work on yourself now before it comes back to bite you in the ass.

And then! Completely digging my Co-Star reading for yesterday:

You are learning how to come to terms with your contradictions. This means that you have an almost supernatural ability to find the interesting side of hardship. It’s not some strange new intuition, it’s your wildness. Trust it.

My wildness!

This week has felt insane. Wild. From a completely necessary, I’m-so-glad-I-went Tampa trip to support framily to 4 hours of intense volleyball training to planning an epic party this weekend, there is a lot going on. Not to mention my day job that I love love love. Sending memes with my boss. My direct report making hilarious jokes about delegating up, down, and to himself. A morning tête-à-tête (how does one pronounce this? duckduckgo and merriam-webster disagree!!) with our global CEO. It was intense as I dealt with not having my truck (more crap from getting hit, but fingers crossed it’s finally resolved as of about an hour ago) and still making it to my obligations. And, of course, it all added up to a neck & shoulder injury working out yesterday—one that will only take a few days to recover from, but kept me up all night. I’m not exactly grateful for the pain and ensuing fatigue, but I am grateful for the reminder that I don’t need to get obsessive about fitness, and that if I’m going to add volleyball, I need to subtract one of my other athletic pursuits—there just aren’t enough hours in the day. And take good care of myself and my body with rest, food, and (lack of) booze. But that’s for next week, I suppose, as we head into a jam-packed holiday weekend I just can’t wait for: on tap are Beer Olympics and a boat, both spaced out and nothing rushed. I’m so excited. More things I’m grateful for: teslas I guess, Nali’s allergy shots, patio hangs with my parents, Jersey boos, ALC, Project Serve, my target sandal haul, dad shit, and Bromance.
