Ten Foods to Live

I just returned to Aspen from Austin, and there are a few things I have to buy in Austin that I simply can’t find from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. This time, I brought back hazelnut meal, veggie chips from Central Market/Whole Foods bulk, Perfect Foods Chocolate Raspberry bars, Emergen-C MSM powder, and bulk arrowroot powder. Which got me thinking, in response to Melisa’s post, which asked “If you could live off only 10 foods, what would they be?”, what are the ten foods I eat the most?

I’ve got to know more about the circumstances to answer her question – how long do I have to live? Can I cook the foods together or only eat them individually? Am I in a kitchen or on a deserted island? Am I worried about my health or am I down for homemade cookies, Ben & Jerry’s, and fresh made whole wheat bread? So here’s mine:

What Ten Foods Do I Eat the Most?*

1. Eggs
2. Alex’s mom’s tuna salad (homemade mayo, apples, walnuts, dill, pickles, garlic salt, tuna) <–is that cheating because it’s like nine ingredients?
3. Garlic salt
4. Zucchini
5. Brussel sprouts
6. Pink lady apples
7. Chocolate chips
8. Beef jerky
9. Chard
10. Scallops

*naturally it’s different in Aspen that it would be in Austin, because veggie chips and the Whole Foods salad bar would definitely be near the top of the list…

Things I wish I ate more often? Sushi, salmon, guacamole, spaghetti squash, bacon, Clark’s salad bar, and spinach. I’ll work on that!

What about you? What do you eat the most of? Do you get tired of it?
