Nothing Killed the Radio Star

Tune in to party934.com every Monday at noon MST/1pm Central to hear my new radio show!

It’s called Life in Aspen (I know, right?! I just changed this here blog … but it needed a name) and it’s all about living in Aspen, playing cool tunes from artists coming to Aspen, and living the good life Aspen so encourages. You should like it even if you’re not in Aspen, because I’m also attempting to debunk some of that mystique surrounding this little place called Assssspen.

This is me: party934.com/LifeinAspen. You can download the podcast from the iTunes store in about 24 hours, but if you just can’t wait (I know I couldn’t), I uploaded this first go to SoundCloud:

Here’s a recap of my first show:

(0-8:59) Technical Difficulties
(8:59-59:59) Me being awkward … and drawing out my aaaaaaaands so as to avoid saying um

… just kidding. There was that, but there was also this:

During the show I mentioned a few things, so I just wanted to put them up here in case anyone wanted to follow the links. Please let me know if you have any comments, questions, or requests for next week!

Lyrics for Seasons of the Heart by John Denver

Of course we have our differences
You shouldn’t be surprised
It’s as natural as changes
In the seasons and the skies

Sometimes we grow together
Sometimes we drift apart
A wiser man than I might know
The seasons of the heart

And I’m walking here beside you
In the early evening chill
A thing we’ve always loved to do
I know we always will

We have so much in common
So many things we share
That I can’t believe my heart
When it implies that you’re not there

Love is why I came here in the first place
Love is now the reason I must go
Love is all I ever hoped to find here
Love is still the only dream I know

So I don’t know how to tell you
It’s difficult to say
I never in my wildest dreams
Imagined it this way

But sometimes I just don’t know you
Theres a stranger in our home
When Im lying right beside you
Is when Im most alone

And I think my heart is broken
There’s an emptiness inside
So many things I’ve longed for
Have so often been denied

Still I wouldn’t try to change you
There’s no one that’s to blame
It’s just some things that mean so much
And we just don’t feel the same

Love is why I came here in the first place
Love is now the reason I must go
Love is all I ever hoped to find here
Love is still the only dream I know
True love is still the only dream I know
