Maybe This is the New FGF? | Mucho Gratitude Every Day 052422

Always with the best of intentions on a Friday … possibly mainly because I wanted to BRAG that I got to RUN a 10-minute mile at 75% bodyweight in the alter-g treadmill!! I am making so much achilles progress, baby!!

And then with the Monday …

wish I was here

AND HERE WE ARE ON TUESDAY.

Which is really better because the week was good with a wine catchup and a canceled show that led to Fonda San Miguel happy hour and good workouts and shelby yoga at casa de luz, but this weekend was so lovely it’s worth recognizing. All about celebrating my dad’s promotion to Grand Master of Kajukenbo, the pinnacle of promotion within the karate system, an incredible feat for a man who has already already has several 10th-degree black belts for arts he created. SO. PROUD.

We had a super fun family celebration on Friday night, then went to his demo and ceremony on Saturday. From there, straight to Houston for my cousin’s crawfish boil and a stay in the Don Quixote airbnb, both of which were SO fun. I absolutely adore my family.

On the way home, we continued the tradition of stopping at a winery on the way home, which is an excellent tradition I highly recommend. I would prefer to be back on that beautiful land sipping a glass of too-sweet wine right now.

Alas, I’m at work, at a job I love that frustrated me beyond belief yesterday but balanced out by the end of the day … perhaps proof that my boss’s annoying “just ride the wave” advice to more true than I want to believe. Then again, if I rode the wave it might still be frustrating because I wouldn’t have taken all the steps I did to right the ship? Am I mixing metaphors? It’s all a drop in the ocean??

ALSO. Last night my only goal was to rest and recharge solo and it was wonderful beyond belief: a two-mile rich mom/hot girl walk (depending on which influencer you follow), a delicious dinner, a hot bath, catching up on the Chicagos.

Gratitude every day. Gratitude FOR every day.
