Hamilton Shirts at Johnstone Made to Order

I often get told I act like a man … “a boy born with different parts,” and the like. Today, however, I was happy to be acting like a man when I went to get fitted for a Hamilton shirt. The Houston-based company custom-fits and manufactures dress shirts for men. And me.

I stopped over at Johnstone Made to Measure this morning (Thursday!) for a Hamilton trunk show that lasts all day today. Keegan from Hamilton is here to measure men in-store and take orders. Hamilton uses super-high thread count materials and designs everything down to the details: 1/4 inch seam or flat seam? square or rounded cuffs? thin or thick buttons? what style collar? how many buttons on your sleeve? Seriously, there are like fourteen more decisions to make. And that’s AFTER you choose a fabric from one of five BOOKS of fabrics of all weights, patterns, designs, colors, fabrics … it’s overwhelming. And awesome.

So men, if you need a new shirt, get one cut just for you today at the trunk show, or any day at Johnstone. Oh, and I met Mr. Johnstone, he’s the nicest guy ever. The shop feels like a good ole boys club
–and there, that’s a good thing.
