you are my celebrity

Feel Good Friday 021916 | NO#ThanksJetBlue

Um. Imma be honest about what I’m doing here. I’m backdating this Feel Good Friday. I got called out on it today:

Friend:
maybe do a double this friday?
idk
you’re the celebrity

Here’s what I would have been grateful for had I actually posted on Friday and before the weekend took place:

Good humor, giggles, boozy coffee, Chelsea, Jen, getting to be a tourist in my hometown, girls weekend!, and heading to my parents’ place(read: porch), which is always a welcome respite.

Thursday morning at 6:57am, JetBlue called my phone and left an automated message saying that my 10:00am flight was cancelled, and I’d been rebooked on a SATURDAY flight. TWO DAYS LATER. Not to worry, my Sunday return was still scheduled. Dafuq?! In what world is this acceptable?!

Despite repeated calls to customer service, JetBlue refused to book us on another flight, so Chelsea and I each paid $500 for a one-way Southwest Airlines flight that put us in Austin Thursday night, losing an entire day of our vacation.

Another half an hour on the phone with JetBlue and I was refunded $158 for one leg of the trip, and JetBlue sent an email two days later offering us a $50 credit (on JetBlue) for our troubles.

$50. For $342 extra expense ($500-158) and 8 hours lost of a long weekend vacation.

I used to love JetBlue. They’re always on time, they’re always friendly, and I’ve never had any problems. But this is the worst experience I’ve ever had with any airline, period. The cost, the coldness, the manner everything was handled, was all atrocious.

I have submitted a Concern to Customer Service, so hopefully JetBlue will make this right. I’ll keep you posted.

HOWEVER, I was so grateful to share this horrible experience with a girl friend who is hilarious and just rolled with it. We shared so much laughter #thanksjetblue, so many funny jokes and great puns, that I am ALMOST grateful the trip kicked off with such drama—almost, but not quite.

So there’s FGF. Grateful for good attitudes and better friends.
