Well, this particular post draft has been here for three weeks.
And I’m even using AI!
That’s not true, we know how unhinged I write here on FGF and no AI is mimicking that style because it ranges based on my mood.
BUT! I did ask my AI Chief of Staff (I really am so cool) to pull from my week and make a list of bullet points of my activities so that I could write these faster, and it did *try* to write in my style. So I left 10/30 for you to laugh and cry and cringe with commentary. But the 11/6 list is my own.
11/6/26 gratitude list
- The Halloween preview party, where our childless friends came over the day before Halloween to hang with us since they’d be going to the debaucherous adult party on the actual Halloween. We ended impromptu vertical wine tasting, because, well, you know me. Show any interest in wine and you’re getting as much of it as you can handle!
- Halloween night was pretty epic, with My Helpful Handsome Humanitarian Warrior’s fever dream “haunted yard experience”, a char-boo-terie board and wine for neighbors, including the couple that stopped by late night!
- I got to lead a brand clarity workshop in LA this week and it was awesome. Being back in the swing of work is awesome.
- I also got treated to a “first business trip back” gift from my HHHW, which was so very cute
- grandma obviously saved the day with taking care of the baby girl, but the most over-the-top thoughtful bit was when she packed her lunch for Weds morning so I didn’t have to after landing at midnight <3
- Coworking with my brother when I got back into town. So fun.
- The best group text ever: a live text stream of the tasting menu at Pujol in Mexico City, where I had my most favorite solo travel dining experience ever! The mole! The pairings! Everything! I got to live vicariously through my tipsy friend and I loved it so much.
- My wild hair redesign of YAMC. AI post coming soon, I’m using it hard and getting better and better. Also comments are back, if you missed them.
- An impromptu Chez Zotlen political debate and rundown of the props.
- I’m grateful for feeling energized again. Like, my soul.
10/30/26 – THESE ARE AI GENERATED AND HORRIBLE.
- A date night out on Saturday while my mom snuggled the baby, and a housewarming to toast a dear friend’s gorgeous new home. << are you kidding me way too effusive and wtf, also Brian wasn’t even there he was on a cast-n-blast weekend
- Recording a podcast episode with a dear friend that felt exactly like two pals chatting at a cafe table. << dear no
- That same friend sending the most perfectly casual headshot for the episode. I LOVED it! << WTF also unrelated I haven’t edited this ep yet, I suck
- The fundraiser committee I volunteer with nearly doubling last year’s total, and a wrap-up call that felt like one big victory lap. << barf (Backyard Ball was AWESOME and so much fun and I am SO proud of us but this is not how I would say it!!)
- The daycare teachers who have loved our girl so well all year, and the sweetest note saying how much she’ll be missed. << no. I mean, yes, this happened and they do love the hell out of her but I would never put that here, except now, I mean, I guess I am
- Picture Day for the baby! Tiny outfit, big personality. << untrue, she just wore whatever she was wearing … but, I mean, I guess she does have a big personality
- A heartfelt thank-you email from a little school we toured this morning. Kindness from near-strangers is the best kind of surprise. << this didn’t happen
- Painting the “coming soon” sign for our haunted house, a gloriously silly little art project.
- Saddling up the broom for the Witches Ride on Thursday night, the most magical kind of spooky. << I … what? I just watched them ride. Not spooky.
- A Halloween preview party tonight to kick off the best holiday weekend of the year. << ARE YOU KIDDING I HATE HALLOWEEN
- A strong week of moving my body: two lifting sessions, a jumpboard Pilates class, a sweaty MVMT class, and infrared warmed vinyasa that felt like a hug for my muscles. << have I ever said moving my body?
- A Los Angeles trip officially on the books, with flights and a hotel confirmed and ready to go. << I mean, true, I guess
- My husband instantly dreaming up a framily getaway the second I floated a fun little trip idea. << oh yeah, we gotta talk Tahoe, framily
