you are my celebrity

Backyard Ball, family, and health | feel good friday 101626

Over the course of two days, I sat on hold for 6+ hours. I am a millennial. I don’t call anyone unless absolutely forced. I’d literally rather facetime you with my double chin that voice chat. I digress; long story short, I’m trying to use new insurance to book a new doctor, and it was an absolute nightmare. At one point I even showed up at an office that had CONFIRED MY INSURANCE via email, but told me when I showed up that they didn’t take it. Two days of phone calls and I got an appointment with the doctor I wanted … in April. Of 2027. So that’s. Something. My parents are dealing with Medicare and healthcare challenges. I’m increasingly frustrated with our healthcare system, but I don’t know where there’s a better alternative. Can Elon work on this?! At least I’m grateful I don’t *need* immediate care?

I’m currently operating under a ton of ambiguity, around some of the health stuff, and deciding to be fractional, and while I bill myself as excelling at leading during ambiguity professionally, living my own ambiguity is proving to be a little more stressful than I’d like to admit. I’m trying to do the nervous-reset and self-care things, but A ROACH RUINED MY BATH WITH THE LAST OF MY BATH SALTS and I’ve only made it to one yoga class. So it’s a bit dicey.

Backyard Ball was a smashing success by all accounts. We await the final total, but it was over $100,000 raised to find a cure for CF! The event was packed and so much fun!

This photo has a sneak of a DIY I did that I’m excited about and will share more about soon!

AND AT LEAST THE WEATHER IS NICE FINALLY!!

Oktoberfest was super fun last weekend!

We went to church!

Sanne loves waffles!

She’s the cutest!

Look how happy the weather makes me!

Bonus, unrelated to FGF:

I don’t like turtlenecks because I don’t like all the fabric on my neck … but this scarf-under-the-turtle trend is kinda cool?! Should I try?!
