Join the Austin Music Foundation for the first Austin Music Mixer of the year to reconnect with your old friends and meet new ones to enhance your career opportunities in 2009. I’ve had musician friends make tons of connections at these events, so get yourself out there!

First Annual Austin Song Contest
Local songwriters invited to compose “Ultimate Austin Song,” for the first annual Austin Song Contest, sponsored by the Austin Music Office. The goal of the contest is to capture the essence of Austin – in an original song written by an Austinite.
The winner will receive $1,000 and promotional gifts, as well as opportunities to showcase their Austin song during contracted performances throughout the year. It’s open to all Austin-area residents within a 30-mile radius of Austin city limits. Submissions will be accepted from February 2 through April 10. A panel of judges, composed of members of the Austin music business community, will select finalists. Finalists’ songs will be posted online at www.AustinTexas.org, and members of the public can vote for their favorite April 17 – May 7.
