Austin Music Foundation HEAR AND NOW Fundraiser

“Hi Austin.

This is a strange time for those of us who make music. While anyone can make a record with a laptop and learn to play by watching lessons on YouTube, more than half of American teenagers have never paid for music and cannot be convinced why anyone would.

What will happen next? Will this generation of artists find a way to live and thrive in this chaos? And what will it sound like?

Austin Music Foundation is here to make sure that Austin’s musicians have the tools they need for the business environment of the new century. AMF provides step-by-step instruction to help musicians of every level produce, market, and protect the art they create, which in turn helps make Austin the place we all brag about.

Without AMF, we may hear of another generation of artists cheated of their due, or worse yet hear nothing at all, as young players figure there is no chance for their music to sustain them.

Like music? Invest in it! For the cost of a night out ($50 – $100), you can help AMF help the musicians who play for you. Can you afford more? Civilization is judged by the art that it produces, so make this world what you want it to be – fair, creative, and sounding good.

Thanks Austin, see you at the gig.

If that didn’t make you want to go to “the gig,” don’t know what will. Austin Music Foundation’s live music showcase and fundraiser “Hear and Now,” features exclusive performances by Davíd Garza and Suzanna Choffel. The evening will include complimentary appetizers and beverages as well as a silent auction offering items from some of Austin’s favorite local businesses. Tickets are available at www.frontgatetickets.com for $35 each, with all proceeds benefiting Austin Music Foundation’s educational programs.

HEAR AND NOW invite

David is playing ACL and has a radius clause which C3 graciously lifted for this event. I believe this will be the only time to see David in Austin before ACL.

Sunday, August 9, 5—7pm, El Sol Y La Luna, 600 East Sixth St.
