Austin: Love Austin Week + Fit Valentine’s Day

Snoball.com is sponsoring the first annual Love Austin Week February 13-17, encouraging Austinites to show love for our city by supporting key local charities that work to lift up our community on a daily basis.

Monday, February 13: Austin Pets Alive

  • Doggie biscuits will be sold at local coffee shops, cafes and restaurants such as Progress Coffee and Jo’s for $2 with proceeds going directly towards a new Austin Pets Alive Mobile Adoption Center.
  • Multiple adoption centers will be set up in the Second Street district from 10a to 2p for people to come out, meet the animals and ask any question they might have around animal adoption.
  • At noon the community is invited to come out for a group dog walk, walking our furry friends around the downtown area, helping raise visibility for Austin Pets Alive.

Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14The Trail Foundation

The World’s Shortest Long Distance Run begins at noon at City Hall Plaza benefiting The Trail Foundation. Runners, walkers, and supporters are invited to City Hall Plaza at lunchtime to participate in a one or three-mile social run (led by local celebrity runners). Good food, music and vibes at City Hall Plaza will follow the run! A number of local health and wellness non-profits will also be on hand with information and booths promoting a healthy Austin. You can just show up or sign up here.
Cost:
Free – They would love for every participant to be able to give back to The Trail, but if you can’t do that, they would still love for you to show your support and run with them.
$45 – Paying participants will become a member of The Trail Foundation and receive a shirt and decal.
$25 – Student/Starving Artist. For $25 you can still become a member of The Trail Foundation and receive a free shirt and decal.
