Austin: Choose Your Documentary: Taxes or Music?

As I just paid an inconveniently large sum of money to the government in the form of taxes, I particularly advise you to drop by The Blanton tomorrow night for a showing of the documentary “An Inconvenient Tax.” The documentary sheds light on one of America’s messiest problems — a fundamentally broken tax code that affects every part of people’s lives. This feature-length documentary film reveals the many ways Congress uses the tax code to achieve political goals that have nothing to do with raising revenue. It also tackles the controversial issue of tax reform through a non-partisan presentation of U.S. tax history and current proposals to fix the code.

The screening will be held April 19th at The Blanton Museum of Art Theater. Doors open at 6:30 to current UT ID holders and at 6:45 to the public. There will also be a panel of guest speakers immediately following the film. Admission is free and there are a total of 300 seats available.

Say you got a refund and are less bitter than me, perhaps you would enjoy the new Austin music documentary, Echotone, opening in Austin at the Alamo Drafthouse Ritz on Sunday, April 24th.
