I have no idea where this art energy came from, what I’m doing, or what role this kind of art is going to play in my life.
But I will say this: I have always, always been a writer, and I’ve never identified with the “writer persona”—y’know, the navel-gazing, self-serious capital-letter-WRITER. And I’ve made quite a bit of money as a professional writer and more than that, never questioned my gifts as a writer. Or that they should be rewarded in the form of money and readership.
So I don’t necessarily need to identify as a capital-letter-ARTIST either, the ear-cutting, manic, or dirty hippie stereotypes need not apply. This art is simply a creative expression that’s really, really helping me get back to me. And I may not need to question this gift either.
If nothing else, I always intended to share how I decorated my house! I don’t think I ever got past my amazing office, but there’s always this week … month … year?!
