70s Big + Special Forces Foundation

Over the course of my athletic and fitness career, I’ve followed—and stopped following—a number of fitness blogs or bloggers (pre influencers yuck). Few have withstood the test of time, but 70sbig.com has been a mainstay, if written by an infrequent poster. Today, Justin, the man behind 70s Big, shared that he’s actually a Green Beret who just lost both his legs in combat. In his post, he is somehow optimistic. There isn’t a trace of bitterness or questioning of his self-worth. If I wasn’t impressed before, I certainly am now.

He advocates donating to Special Forces Foundation; I immediately went and did so. He also shares a fundraiser called Climbing for Casualties that some friends are doing on his behalf for the same organization. You can buy a shirt that supports this specific fundraiser here, for $20 + $7 shipping: stores.inksoft.com/climbing-for-casualties/shop/home.

I don’t know the guy, and I don’t personally want to be 70s Big, but I do appreciate the wit, humor, and realistic approach he’s always taken to training. Looks like he’s taking the same approach to his changing life as well, and I’m happy to help support that kind of life any way I can.
