35 Before 35 List

As if I haven’t already done enough (cough, buying a house, cough) in the days after my 34th birthday, I am brainstorming a list of things I want to do over the next year…

  1. Furnish my house – in a beautiful, cohesive way
  2. Build a bench for my dining room table with my dad
  3. Redo my backyard (with, you guess it, dad)
  4. Save $$$ for a plunge pool!
  5. Budget.
  6. Re-establish my network in Austin.
  7. Get better at rock climbing – learn more techniques, use less muscle
  8. Take more day trips to San Antonio to spend time with my childhood bestie
  9. Get to DC to see fbgf’s new house!
  10. Marry Mara off in May in Mexico!
  11. Host Mara’s bachelorette in Austin
  12. Identify passion project
  13. Build startup
  14. Diversify investments; invest in stocks – pay attention
  15. Mow my own lawn
  16. Frame & hang Rice diploma
  17. Treat my photos as art – get them printed/blown up and hung!
  18. Take better photos
  19. Edit wardrobe and get rid of absolutely everything that’s unnecessary
  20. Pack light for all trips
  21. Clear up face
  22. Botox (HEY! everyone is doing it)
  23. Drink more European wines
  24. Win a volleyball tournament (find a partner…)
  25. Buy expensive bath towels because I’m an adult and have been using the same one I was gifted for my high school graduation
  26. Meet baby Henry in Chicago
  27. Be straightforward and voice what I want
  28. Get good at wakesurfing!
  29. Take at least two ski trips
  30. Train for something (physical)
  31. Learn a new signature dish (I got accused of always making ground beef + veggies the other night … truth)
  32. Procure all ingredients for Bensonhurst cocktail
  33. Find places/causes/boards to volunteer
  34. Snuggle LOTS in that big bed you so nicely outfitted (ahem amsterdam duvet ahem)
  35. Build a friggin’ gate between my brother’s backyard next door and mine
