It’s like I just discovered Athleta.

Since starting to play flag football in a league that has photographers out every weekend, I’ve had to pay attention to what shorts I own that not only are comfortable and don’t ride up, but look good on camera. It’s a tough bill. Most of the ladies in the league are crazy for Nike Pros ($35), and I own two pair and am fairly happy with them (pictured: the newest print).
But. After Christmas I ordered some Athleta Chaturanga shorties ($39, colors/patterns will go on sale down to half price) and they are hands-down the best shorts for football.
- They have a softer waistband, so they look better without a shirt on (pictured).
- They are slightly longer, so they eliminate any weird under-butt in photos (who knew that was a thing?).
- They NEVER show sweat, and they are allegedly anti-stink so you don’t have to wash them every time (I haven’t tried this so cannot vouch).

For now, these are my top recommendation. Unfortunately, I am picking a terrible time to recommend them, as on the Athleta site, there are only black and navy available right now, but fingers crossed they come out with new patterns for summer soon.
