30 Before 30 Report Card

On March 10, 2014 I posted my 30 things to DO before I turn 30. Seeing as tomorrow is the BIG DAY, let’s see how I did.

25 / 30

… are close enough to DONE to be considered done. I’m happy with that!!

The 30 Before 30 List:

1. Learn to golf, dammit. It’s BIZNESS. Done? I went at least. And I have loaner clubs.

2. Decorate my house like a real person. Where things look coordinated. This doesn’t mean I buy things, and may mean I give away things, but I want to look put together when I’m 30. Done! Room looks put together with photos, a big armchair, and matching pillows. Living room is eclectic but styled.

3. Accept that I will never like cleaning but get better about doing the little things—wiping the counter, putting away the dishes immediately. Done! Better, anyway, if not done.

4. Take a serious fashion risk. Remember the pink scuba dress you wore to your first event with Orange Coast mag? It was amazing there, then totally bombed a night on the town. Do more of that. Done! Sequined pants to a hockey game.

5. Commit to getting a six pack (diet/booze) or get rid of the idea that you want one. Done! Abzzzz.

6. Plan a birthday trip with a few friends to somewhere easy and do as little as possible. YUP! BIG SUR!

7. Plan or execute next out-of-the-country trip. Renew passport. Done. Almost twice.

8. Stop picking at my cuticles. … looks like this may never happen. Getting more manicures in a recent attempt to stop, but so far it’s not exactly effective.

9. Puerto Rico. Done!

10. See my cousin in Scotland (before June). Done!

11. Get Nali to bark less. Done, believe it or not! Citronella spray bark collar FTW.

12. Stop being lazy about stupid things: put the clothes in the dirty clothes, fold the tank tops, and wash the dishes. Ha, see #3. Better, anyway, if not done.

13. Take more pictures. This comes and goes in waves, but I’m ok with it.

14. Take better pictures. Working on it still…

15. Hang more pictures. Done!

16. Give away more stuff. Done. Strict one-in-one-out of the closet policy anyway.

17. Enter a local volleyball tournament. Doheny unrated coed! Didn’t win but had fun.

18. Therefore, you will probably need to find a doubles partner. Hm. I’m still open on this one.

19. Be vulnerable. As much and as often as possible. This is probably never done.

20. Wear more high heels. Done. Girls nights!

21. Create more things—crafting, cooking, and gifting. Done.

22. Baths. Take them! Done. Thank goodness for our bathtub.

23. Let go of having to be good at everything, or even having to DO everything. Work in progress.

24. Get a muscle-up (CrossFit). NOPE. Not done.

25. Refine a vision for this blog. NOPE. Not done.

26. Teach Nali a new trick. We’re halfway there on ‘Bang!’ … so nope.

27. Prep more meals. Make more to-go food. Sunday night salad assembly line in full effect.

28. Tell more people more often how much I love them. YUP.

29. Increase traffic to DailyHap by 50%. Nope 🙁 But everyone should click over and help out: dailyhap.com

30. Plan a badass 30th birthday party! Threw this one out, planned the bday trip instead!
