Barefoot

Since it’s summer, I’ve been walking around totally barefoot. No barefoot shoes. Just toes in the grass, on the dirt, whatever. I took an hour walk with the dawg barefoot. 30 minutes at the park. Being totally, completely, 100% barefoot is AWESOME.

Ben & Jerry’s

Last week, I got the incredible opportunity to join Ben & Jerry’s Millennial Advisory Board. We flew out to Vermont for three days of training, talking, and LOTS of eating ice cream. Here are a few photos:       As if I didn’t already love Ben & Jerry’s, this experience cemented their awesomeness. The…

Rent the Runway Review (hint: I love it)

If you’re not a Gossip Girl watcher, you might not have seen Rent the Runway in action (Juliet uses it to look like she actually has money to buy designer clothes). Think Jennifer Hudson using Bag Borrow Steal from Sex & The City. No? Maybe I’ll just ‘splain myself: Rent the Runway is a dress-lending site where…

Lots of Travelin’

I fully intended to write a full post on the Chicago airport gym, but now it swirls around in my head with the other travelin’ gyms and workouts I did, so it will just be one of a list: Chicago: Hilton hotel gym at the airport (you DO have to leave security). Has an Olympic…

Austin & Aspen: Aspen Ideas Fest / Texas Tribune Festival

When I got the recent email from the Texas Tribune announcing the inaugural TEXAS TRIBUNE FESTIVAL, a “weekend of debate, discussion and dialogue, featuring some of the biggest names, and the biggest brains, in the world of politics and public policy,” I laughed out loud. I This special event will take place on September 24th…

Austin: Cincominder App

Surely you remember CINCO Vodka, the “Austin’s Neighbor”-based, limestone-filtered, “martini-drinker’s” vodka I wrote about here? In one of the most ridiculously awesome ideas ever, CINCO has introduced a Cincominder app for the iphone. What does this app do? Why, the app reminds fans when it’s five o’clock—the perfect time to enjoy a great martini!—with the…

A Home for My Jewels

I have been going crazy in my loft apartment trying to find a great, space-saving way to store but display my jewelry. My earrings benefited greatly from a picture frame holder (pictured below), but my necklaces, bracelets, and scarves are more trouble. Finally, I found the perfect solution! It may not look like much, but…

“You swing that rope so fast it could cut cheese!”

I just can’t make these things up. Another hilariously awesome comment from another Bleeker Street Gym athlete (these are almost as good as the BMQOTDs used to be … I miss you Big Mike … and my witness Alex): “You swing that rope so fast it could cut cheese!” Is she secretly noting that I am cutting…
